Sevilla, Part 1

Sevilla was a mixed bag for us. Maybe it was the stress of dragging all our bags through the tiny streets to our new apartment while Ed parked the car and then waiting an hour before we were let in. Or perhaps it was when we found a huge cockroach (gator roach really) in our bathroom or when we realized that our internet connection was abysmal. The next day was better and in fact our visits to the Cathedral (and its Giralda, a huge tower with crazy winding ramps) and Alcazar were definitely the highlights of the whole visit. They were really worth the trip, with our first true look at Moorish influence. The tile varieties in the Alcazar were amazing and the gardens and rooms gave us endless exploration. The kids had a great time in the hedge maze and we saw some truly beautiful sights, both natural and manmade.
