Honk if You're Sacreligious

Sorry. I couldn't help myself, though it's pretty wonderful that the Gothic cathedral in Barcelona is "guarded" by 13 handsome geese (always 13, supposedly the age of its patron saint Eulalia when she was martyred). The cloister the birds live in is closed, save for a fountain that continues to supply drinking water to the church. We explored the main cathedral, including an elevator tour to the top of one tower where we had a great view of the massive restoration project underway all over the cathedral. What's with the feet? We were intrigued by the carvings of scissors and skulls on random stones across the floor. Apparently they're meant to give credit to some guilds that helped build/restore the 700-year-old cathedral over the years.
