Park Paseo (typically at midnight, ours at noon)

The parks in Sevilla were interesting, particularly the grand buildings constructed for a Spanish-American Exhibition that didn't quite pan out thanks to the Great Depression. Unfortunately we arrived in time for extensive renovation. And the canals, usually filled with boats we had hoped to row, were under construction. But we could access the 50 fascinating tile benches commemorating each of the major areas of Spain with a colorful mosaic. This sprawling tree caught our eye but our short sit underneath marked the start of the biting flies. We moved on pretty quickly but they followed for quite a while and their bites definitely lingered. But we eventually found more fun: spitting lion fountains, beautiful flowers, and some very long seed pods hanging from a tree that made for yet another sword fight.
