I inadvertently jumbled the photographs here of our outing to Gaudi's Parc Guell, and I think the first photo is midway on the hike. It was another hot day but we made it to the top of the mountain that Gaudi used to anchor his failed real estate/housing development concept. Only a few people ever moved in, including Gaudi and his father for a time, so the park itself wasn't completed. But the inverted cantenary arches Gaudi is known for are in evidence, as are doric columns--I think this areawas meant to be a market for the residents--as well as all the pretty tile mosaics. The huge terrace has the curves of a snake creating colorful benches mobbed by tourists looking to get their pictures taken lounging over Barcelona. Nate and Thomas were lucky to catch a spot off the main section though they don't look all that impressed. The ceramic tile dragon was so mobbed with tourists that I only have picture of other random people beside it...No pasa nada, as everyone says here (Nothing happens--or No big deal). The boys had more fun climbing rock walls, spotting real lizards and racing each other up (or down) the next bit of trail anyway.
